Industrial Silo Coatings & Linings
Industrial Silo Coatings and Linings Across Ontario
Industrial silos are exposed to weather, moisture, stored materials, abrasion and difficult temperature conditions. When exterior coatings deteriorate or internal surfaces begin to wear, corrosion and substrate damage can reduce reliability and increase future repair costs.
TK Industrial Services Inc. provides industrial silo preparation, coating and lining services throughout Ontario. We work on steel and concrete silos for manufacturing, agricultural processing, bulk material handling and other industrial operations.
Exterior Silo Coatings
Exterior steel is vulnerable to rust at seams, roof transitions, ladders, platforms, connections and areas where water collects. Our exterior silo services can include washing, abrasive blasting or mechanical preparation, localized repairs and application of corrosion-resistant coating systems.
Exterior coating work may cover:
Silo shells and roofs
Structural supports and frames
Platforms, ladders and handrails
Hoppers and discharge areas
Exterior piping and attached steel
Seams, fasteners and difficult transition points
Interior Silo Linings
Internal wear depends on the stored product, loading and discharge patterns, moisture and cleaning procedures. Abrasive materials can erode surfaces while condensation or corrosive products can attack steel and concrete.
Interior lining projects may require removal of product residue, failed coatings and corrosion before a new system is installed. The lining must be selected for the stored material and required operating conditions. Food-contact or other regulated uses require project-specific product approval and documentation.
Steel and Concrete Silo Rehabilitation
TK Industrial Services can coordinate surface preparation, localized steel treatment, concrete repairs and protective coating installation. Concrete silos may require removal of weak material, crack repair and resurfacing before coating. Steel silos may require detailed preparation at welds, seams and pitted areas.
Silo Coating During Planned Shutdowns
Because internal access generally requires the silo to be empty and isolated, lining work is well suited to planned outages. Scheduling should account for emptying, cleaning, access installation, surface preparation, application, curing and final inspection.
Serving Ontario’s Industrial and Processing Facilities
Our silo coating and lining services support food and ingredient processing, agriculture, cement and aggregate handling, manufacturing, minerals, chemical processing and other bulk-storage operations across Ontario.
Request a Silo Coating Assessment
Provide silo dimensions, construction material, stored product, photographs, access details, current coating condition and your available outage window. TK Industrial Services can develop a scope suited to the asset and operating schedule. (subsequent site visit and substrate inspection)
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you coat both steel and concrete silos?
Yes. Preparation and coating methods differ by substrate, condition and service environment.
Can silo lining work be completed during a shutdown?
Yes. Planned shutdowns provide the isolation and access time typically required for cleaning, preparation, coating and curing.
How is an interior silo lining selected?
Selection depends on the stored material, temperature, abrasion, cleaning methods, substrate and any regulatory requirements.
