Industrial Tank Linings & Coatings

Industrial Tank Linings and Coatings Across Ontario

Industrial tanks face continuous exposure to moisture, chemicals, abrasion, temperature changes and demanding operating conditions. When the original lining fails, corrosion and substrate deterioration can lead to leaks, contamination, unplanned shutdowns and premature tank replacement.

TK Industrial Services Inc. provides industrial tank lining and coating services throughout Ontario. We restore and protect steel, concrete and FRP tanks using thorough surface preparation and coating systems selected for the tank’s substrate, contents and service environment.

Tank Protection for Demanding Industrial Environments

A successful tank-lining project begins below the surface. Applying a new coating over corrosion, contamination or unsound material can shorten the life of the entire system. Our work may include cleaning, abrasive blasting, removal of failed coatings, concrete repair, seam and weld treatment, priming and application of a compatible protective lining.

Our tank services can address:

  • Internal corrosion and coating breakdown

  • Chemical attack and product exposure

  • Worn, cracked or delaminating linings

  • Pitting around welds, seams and penetrations

  • Abrasion and erosion in process tanks

  • Moisture intrusion and deterioration in concrete tanks

  • Planned maintenance during plant shutdowns

Steel, Concrete and FRP Tank Lining Services

Every substrate requires a different restoration approach. Steel tanks may require abrasive blasting to remove corrosion and establish the specified surface profile. Concrete tanks may require removal of weak material, crack and void repairs, resurfacing and moisture-aware preparation. FRP tanks require careful assessment and compatible repair and lining materials.

Depending on the application, TK Industrial Services can install epoxy, vinyl ester, novolac, fiberglass-reinforced and other industrial lining systems. Final product selection should be based on chemical exposure, temperature, immersion conditions, abrasion, required return-to-service time and the coating manufacturer’s specifications.

A Complete Tank Restoration Process

Our scope can include:

  1. Reviewing the tank condition and operating environment

  2. Cleaning and removing residue or loose material

  3. Abrasive blasting or mechanically preparing the substrate

  4. Repairing cracks, voids, seams, welds and deteriorated areas

  5. Applying the specified primer and lining system

  6. Inspecting completed work before return to service

Industries We Serve

We support manufacturing plants, chemical processors, water and wastewater facilities, food and beverage operations, utilities, steel facilities, mining operations and other industrial sites across Ontario.

Plan Tank Lining Work Around Your Operations

Tank restoration can be coordinated with a scheduled outage, turnaround or maintenance window. Early planning allows the cleaning, access, preparation, curing and inspection requirements to be built into the shutdown schedule.

Request an Industrial Tank Lining Assessment

If your tank is showing corrosion, coating failure, leakage or concrete deterioration, contact TK Industrial Services Inc. Discuss the tank substrate, dimensions, stored material, operating temperature, current condition and required completion window with our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can an existing industrial tank be relined instead of replaced?

In many cases, yes. The substrate must first be assessed to determine whether repairs and a new lining system are practical. Restoration can extend service life when the underlying structure remains suitable.

Which tank lining is best for chemical exposure?

The correct system depends on the exact chemicals, concentrations, temperatures, exposure duration and substrate. Material compatibility should be verified before selection.

Can tank coating be completed during a shutdown?

Yes. Tank lining is commonly scheduled during planned shutdowns, provided enough time is allowed for cleaning, preparation, application, curing and inspection.
